Facebook

Your Facebook page, taking orders on Messenger

You connect your business page and the Messenger chat stops being a mailbox nobody checks: it carries your shop's menu, the link to your menu and the previous orders of whoever is writing. You see all of it from the panel, next to what comes in from Instagram and WhatsApp.

  • On every plan, the free one included
  • A page, not a profile
  • The catalogue goes both ways
The chat menu

Messenger's own menu, with your shop inside it

Messenger has a menu of its own in every conversation, the one behind the button next to the text box. When the page is connected, that menu becomes your shop's, and it stays installed: nobody has to send it in every conversation.

  • Five entries: Last order · See my orders · Start an order · Opening days · Shop information
  • It stays on the page: it works in every conversation, the old ones included
  • Start an order sends back the link to your menu, valid for one hour
  • Opening days answers which days you open and whether you are open right now, and Shop information says where you are
  • The menu is written in Spanish for everyone, including whoever writes to you in English
Catalogue

The page's catalogue and your shop's, in sync

If the page already has a shop registered on Facebook, its products can be brought over instead of typed again. And whatever you build in TalkToCart can be pushed up there, all of it or the ones you pick.

  • Send the products you pick to Facebook, or the whole catalogue in one go
  • Bring over the ones you already have there, with their name, description, price and image
  • If that page has no catalogue yet, one is created the first time
  • What comes in arrives as a physical product: an appointment or a subscription is not imported from a Meta catalogue
  • If the product is in a different currency from your shop, it does not come in: you get told instead of having the price converted behind your back
The inbox

Messenger stops being the inbox you check on Mondays

A small business answers fast where it looks often and late where it looks rarely, and Facebook tends to be the second one. Here its messages land in the same inbox as Instagram and WhatsApp, with a count of what is unread.

  • Several pages at once, if you have slots left in your plan
  • What is unread, counted, so you know whether anything is pending before closing
  • Automations by a word contained in the message: «menu», «opening», «where are you»
  • A different answer just for whoever writes to you for the first time
  • On the comments of a post, not yet: the option is in the panel, switched off
What you need

The business page, not your profile

What gets connected is a Facebook page — the business one, the one with reviews and opening hours — and you have to be an admin of it. A personal profile will not do: Messenger only lets a program answer on behalf of a page.

  • A Facebook page you are an admin of
  • It works on every plan, the free one included
  • Each connected page takes a slot in your plan, and shares it with Stripe: one on free, four on Basic and eight on Pro
  • Your shop shows a button to write to you on Messenger, and the customer walks into the chat without registering
  • TalkToCart does not post on your wall: it uploads nothing and schedules nothing. What it does is sell in the direct message
Straight answers

What people ask before connecting a page

Will my personal profile do?

No. What gets connected is a page, which is what Facebook considers a business and the only thing a program can answer on behalf of. Creating a page is free and it is done from your own account.

What if someone else runs the page?

Whoever connects it has to be an admin of the page. If an agency or a nephew set it up, that is the errand to settle first: ask for the admin role from the page's settings.

Does it post on my wall?

No. TalkToCart reads your posts so it can point at them, but it uploads nothing and schedules nothing: what it does is turn the direct message into an order.

Does it reply to the comments on my posts?

Not yet. The option is in the panel and it is switched off: today's automations are a direct message answered with a direct message.

Do I need a paid plan?

No. Facebook is included in the free plan, with one connection and forty products. WhatsApp is the one that starts on Basic.

Does the customer find out when their order is ready?

If you mark it, yes: changing the state offers a box to tell them through the same chat, and the notice reaches Messenger like any other message from you.
