An order system for a bar, not software for a hotel chain
Bar, café, grill or neighbourhood kitchen. Orders come in over WhatsApp, over Instagram or through your own menu page, and come out on a board behind the bar. What you sell is yours in full: we take no commission on any sale.
- 0% commission per sale
- Free up to 40 products
- Works with no line
Wherever people already write to you, plus a menu that is yours
Nobody has to teach the neighbourhood a new place to go. The order comes in on the same WhatsApp as always, on the bar's Instagram or through your menu link, and all three end up on the same board.
- WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, with a menu of buttons inside the chat
- Your menu at yourbar.talktocart.com, for the poster on the door or the Instagram bio
- Pickup with your address on the map, delivery within a radius in kilometres, or both
- The customer signs up for nothing, installs nothing and creates no account
Full portions, half portions and "no onion"
Every dish carries its photo, its price with whichever VAT applies, and whatever extras you want to charge for separately. Whatever runs out goes to zero and can no longer be ordered, which is what actually happens at three on a Sunday.
- Categories: nibbles, sandwiches, sharing plates, drinks, desserts
- Extras with a price of their own, picked by the customer instead of shouted over the bar
- One VAT rate per product, and prices shown with or without tax included
- Stock per dish: at zero it disappears from the order until you restock it
- TalkToCart does not generate the menu QR code: the link is an ordinary address and any generator will do
The board holds up at half past two
It installs as an app on the counter tablet and shows every order together, with its state. If the line goes down — and it does — it carries on taking orders and syncs itself when it comes back.
- Twelve states, from "received" to "delivered", by way of "ready for pickup"
- An alert on the tablet as soon as an order arrives, even with the panel closed
- Offline you can still take orders and move them along: whatever is pending is sent on its own when the line returns
- Up to three staff accounts with their own permissions and five places on the Pro plan
- It does not print the order in the kitchen: there is no ticket printing anywhere in the panel
The €16.60 on that order are €16.60
The charge is made into a Stripe account that is yours and the money goes straight to your bank. TalkToCart reserves no percentage of the sale: what you pay for is the plan, and the plan costs the same in a good month and in a bad one.
- 0% commission per sale, against whatever percentage a delivery platform keeps
- The only thing deducted is Stripe's card fee, which you pay Stripe
- You can also not connect payments at all and carry on charging at the bar
What people behind a bar actually ask
Does this replace my till?
No, and it doesn't try to. It is for the orders that arrive by phone and for the menu you show the customer. Charging at the bar carries on exactly as it does today.
Do you charge a percentage of each order?
No. The charge is created against your own Stripe account with no share reserved for us. The only thing deducted from an order paid by card is Stripe's fee, which is an agreement between Stripe and you.
Do I have to buy anything?
No. It runs on the tablet, phone or computer you already have, and installs from the browser with no app store in the middle.
Does it print the order in the kitchen?
Not today. There is no ticket printing: the order shows up on the board and the device gets an alert as soon as one arrives.
What about a lunch shift and a dinner shift?
By default the online shop takes orders at any hour, which for a split shift is what you want: someone orders at six in the evening for dinner. If you tie it to your hours, today it only understands one time range per day.
I have two places. Does it work?
Yes. The Pro plan covers up to five shops under the same owner, each with its own menu, address and orders.
